I’ve always loved to travel and by association to plan trips for people. The first place I wanted to see was the Panama Canal, so I took a cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Los Angeles. Being my first cruise it was a bit more than I bargained for 21 days at sea. From this experience I learned to start slow and build up and it is what I tell my clients. If this is your first cruise, take a 4, 5 or 7 day cruise first, then build up to the longer cruises, for of course you are going to love cruising. The next place I wanted to see was China.
It was about 1972 and Nixon had just visited China and you could apply for permission to visit – which we did. It was an experience very different from going to China today. I loved it, spent 15 days travelling thru China with a Tour group. In those days you could not wander thru China on your own, there were very few hotels and to be honest none up to western standards, we ate at long tables, very basic, on full day sightseeing trips we ate at local chinese restaurants – that was an experience, one I am glad I had the opportunity to experience.
From this my trips grew and now I have been to over 110 countries, sailed on all the oceans and seas and visited every Continent.
